We have Liz Hurley to thank for a lot of things. Her safety-pinned Versace dress of '94 (still one of the most epic things to have hit the red carpet), her bodacious turn in 2000's Bedazzled (I watched, as a teenager, with envious eyes like saucers) and her dedication to turning Shane Warne into a shiny new handbag. (In Liz's eyes, your accoutrements -- particularly those accessories made of manskin -- should always be shiny.)
What we don't have Liz to thank for, is her services rendered to white trousers. Thanks to Liz's omnipotent monopoly on the white trouser trend, we were all led to believe it was 'her thing'. If you wore white jeans, you were copying The Hurley. There was no escaping it. Until Jenna Lyon, J Crew matriarch and fashion flavour du jour came along and told us that white trousers are actually the best thing ever. All year round.
Suddenly we were able to cleave back the trend from LH's embrace; white trousers were no longer a one-woman homage. And whilst I'm not quite ready to embrace the white jean trend, I am more than au fait with some white (faux) leather. On the wish list would be the real deal leathers from Kate Bosworth for Topshop's The Collection, but sadly I do not have £300 to invest in some ice white thighs. That said, game, set, match: I'm ready for ma winter whites.

I'm wearing a Topshop duster coat, a Zara polo neck, H&M white faux leather trousers and vintage Chelsea boots (also similar here).
